The current wave of COVID-19 cases in NSW is predominantly due to the BA2 subvariant of the Omicron coronavirus variant. This subvariant is somewhat resistant to sotrovimab (monoclonal antibody therapy) so we will be recommending oral antiviral therapy (Lageviro or Paxlovid) for our patients who are eligible for infection-modifying therapy.
